You may remember I meant to go to the Philippines last week, but things didn’t quite pan out. Well I got my act together this week and rode down to my old hood for lunch. The Filipino place I had in mind is in Mermaid, right outside my old house. Ironically I never went when I lived there but I often mused about going. So it was my moment. I was greeted by friendly staff, clearly a family run place. I decided to go with the Pork Adobo meal which for $9.90 included a generous serving of pork, steamed rice and salad. Oh, and did I mention that I ordered it to eat IN?! So I sat, feeling very special that I would get to use real plates and real cutlery. What’s better is that the said cutlery came out in boiling water to keep things hygienic and definitely Corona free. Very nice. It was all delicious, leaving me with a smile on my face that matched the smiles on the faces of the staff.
