I’ve been thinking about the Psalms lately. The songs or hymns of praise written by a variety of different authors. Some offer up praise to God, some lament and many declarations of the Messianic King who is to come. They are used in worship, for encouragement and we meditate on them.
I love that some Psalms are raw and vulnerable and we can imagine what the author was going through, giving us hope for our situation. This caused me to think about writing my own Psalms of the revelations I have received. Not because I want to add to the Bible, but because I think God is relational and knows us personally.
So here it goes, a ‘Psalm of Dom’…
1 Glow Stick
Broken, but not damaged
Shaken, and not deterred
Every brake, every shake
You cause to glow
Chipped, but highly valued
Hacked, and highly prized
Shape me, make me,
like only You know
For I am like a vessel,
made for Your purpose,
not my own.
Made by the hands of the potter,
the carpenter, the creator,
I’m the seed that is sown.
Who am I to judge,
how could I instruct,
the One who brought me,
out of the dust.
