Annnndd… We’re off! I’ve well and truly touched down in London Baby! So many places to see and the London list just keeps growing. Well first off the list was Camden Town.
I’ve been told that Camden was Amy Winehouse’s hood… Not that that was much of a draw card for me. She’s kind of a big deal around those parts and there is a statue honoring her memory. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see it, but here is a bunch of things that I did see and would recommend:
I started my voyage by walking along the canals to get to Camden. It was a brisk walk but totally worth it. I got a coffee from Caravan along the way.

Well I made it to Camden Markets and apparently I was early. I think it’s an Aussie thing to be up and functioning before 10. Well I wondered around and scoped out my plan of attack while I had a ridiculous brownie at Yumchaa. Finally when everything was open I was in search of vintage treasure. It’s tricky to find because of the high prices but I did manage to pick up some Lee jeans or ‘pizza pants’ as I’m calling them because they are comfy enough to wear to devour pizza in Italy, which I plan to do. They were from What Goes Around Comes Around Vintage and were £25.

There are plenty of trendy places to eat including the novelty Cereal Killer Cafe. I was very tempted until I realised that I liked the idea of ordering a bowl full of sugary cereal more than the reality of it. But if that floats your boat then by all means go for it!

What I did do is check out the street food and it was a hard choice indeed. After pushing my way through the crowds I ended up going with the Roti House. This was because they cook the Roti on this clay pot oven right in front of you. Seemed legit, and it was.

OK, next I continued to walk along the canals to Regent’s Park. The sun was out and it was lovely. It is a lot of walking though, so if your faint hearted you might catch a bus.

Regent’s park is massive but it’s not the largest in London. But it does have a zoo, so I guess it can claim bragging rights for that.

Something else you can do near Regent’s Park is Baker Street the home of the Sherlock Holmes Museum. I say ‘you can’ because I personally didn’t. The line to get in was miles long so I’m sure it’s great.

After a stroll through the park (because that’s the only way to get around in a park) I kept wondering over to Primrose Hill.

And it turns out Primrose Hill is named that for a reason. You can climb the hill in the park and get mediocre views of London. The views may not be spectacular but it certainly is a lovely vibe and worth the climb.

There you have it. A lot of walking and a great start to my adventures in London.
