Packing, it can tickle some with excitement and strike fear into others. Whether your a last minute packer, or two months in advance, it can be tricky to make sure you have everything you need for your trip.
I knew this pack would be a difficult one with many things to consider. First thing is the length of time. This trip is almost 7 months long so I need to think about what I’ll be doing during that time and also consider that this she’ll of a bag will be following me around. I need the delicate balance of having everything I need as well as not over doing it.
The other thing to consider is that I will be in hot and cold climates. I think the most difficult thing to think over was the kind of footwear I would need. Solid shoes for hiking, warm and suitable shoes for the city, running shoes for activities, summery sandles and shower shoes? Seems like too many to carry on my back.
Well in the end this is what I ended up with. Not sure if I got it right, but time will tell.

Shoes: hiking boots, Nike’s, Birkenstock’s and thongs (I said yes to the shower shoes.)

Accessories: Head wear, thermals and loads of underwear. I stuffed my socks into my shoes.

Clothing: Pajama shirt, singlets, two exercise tops, short and long tights, stupid and floral tank, two dresses, nice floral top, shorts, navy long skirt (for Africa), striped and black long sleeve, black skinny jeans, black and white cardigan and black spray jacket.

Travel towel, sleeping bag liner, medical kit, camping cutlery.

Plane: Comfy trackies, striped tshirt, kitted jumper, scarf, Bible, travel journal, face wipes, hand sanitizer, pencil case, head phones, sunnies, denim jacket, drink bottle, spare undies and jeans to change into later.
Yep so there you have it. I’ll update you to what was and wasn’t helpful.
